msurveys.com relaunched
For those of you interested in survey technologies, I have relaunched msurveys.com, integrating the technologies of my new employer (GMI). As I write this, only the IM/instant messaging demo is live, but SMS/mobile and avatar demos are to follow shortly.

Visit to the BBC World Service
I was invited to the BBC for an interesting talk by Hossein Derakhshan (http://hoder.com) on Blogs and Censorship in Iran. Pictured here with Ian and Lucy from the BBC World Service (Ian is responsible for near-full-text feeds in Persian, see here).
Related: Ian posted a summary of some issues we encountered on his blog here.

Open AIM SDK released
Greg writes:
"Today is a historic day at AOL as we announced, just moments ago, a software development kit for AOL Instant Messenger. Open AIM will empower you, as the developer, to write custom clients, plugins, and eventually bots. When you include this SDK with the web presence API and AIM Model-T (IAmAlpha, or AIM Modules) we are really starting to build compelling social network development tools. The SDK will be available starting at 5AM EST today at developer.aim.com"
